There are many opportunities to connect with one another outside of Sunday worship services.
For more information on any of the following activities ask a church member at Sunday Service or contact the Office Administrator at (949)497-4568 or email@example.com.
PERFORMANCE ON CYPRESS: UUFLB hosts a diverse selection of local musical talents, poetry readings and other artistic performances (as announced).
CHOIR: Our choir practices every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. under the direction of our Music Director, Carole Cole. Anyone is welcome to join in singing in choir practice. The choir leads hymns in the worship service every week, and performs an anthem a couple of times each month.
FEEDING THE HOMELESS: Volunteers from our church prepare and serve hot dinners for around 70 people at the local homeless shelter on two Thursday nights each month. Because our church kitchen is small, we ask volunteers to prepare food at their home and bring it to the church.
COVENANT GROUPS: Covenant Groups are groups of persons, usually about 6 or 8 in number, who agree to meet regularly (once or twice a month) for a fixed period (6 months or a year) to engage in deep and meaningful discussion. Discussions are confidential and participants are expected to commit to giving a priority to attendance. The groups are intended to foster personal exploration, rather than being mere discussion groups for political or intellectual purposes. Each group will be led by an experienced Facilitator who has previously led one or more Covenant Groups.
UU LAGUNA WOODS FIRST FRIDAY DISCUSSION GROUP: On the first Friday of every month, UUFLB members and friends who live in Laguna Woods gather for a discussion of a current event. Meet in The Rendezvous Room at the Laguna Woods Towers, 24055 Paseo Del Largo. Please bring your own lunch. Tea & coffee are provided. There is a modest fee of $1.50 per person.
GREAT DECISIONS DISCUSSION GROUP: Discussions centered on issues of global importance, coordinated with the international Foreign Policy Association.
CAMP DeBENNEVILLE: There is something going on at our UU-shared camp year round. Please visit www.uucamp.org for information about Camp deBenneville and upcoming events and retreats.
